Multicultural Insights is continuing its collaboration with the International Organization for Migration studying the internal displacement in Ukraine.
MI conducted the thirteenth round of the nationally representative general population survey in Ukraine.
Here are some of the findings:
📍As of May 23, 5.1 million IDPs are displaced across Ukraine. Fifty eight per cent of all IDPs have been displaced for six months or more.
📍Seven per cent (around 353,000 people) had previously been displaced outside Ukraine before returning to the country but remaining in displacement
📍745,000 IDPs in Ukraine seek integration in their current location as a durable solution (15% of IDPs nation-wide, with data available per oblast), or that 3.3M IDPs see return as their durable solution of choice (so called projected return caseload), while 142,000 IDPs are looking to resettle in another location as a durable solution.
📍65 per cent of IDP live in households with a monthly income level per household member equal to or less than UAH 4,666 (=126 USD). Only 38 per cent of IDPs reported being able to rely on regular salary as a main income source.
